Green Isle’s 2022 FoodCloud Donation
As we near the end of 2022, we recognise that it has been a challenging year for many families and communities in Ireland. And although Christmas is a very joyous time for most, it can be very difficult for others. With this in mind, we are delighted to partner with FoodCloud again as part of our Christmas charity initiatives. This year we have donated over 4000 packs of Green Isle frozen vegetables which FoodCloud are redistributing to charities and local community organisations. This year we have donated 5.40 tonnes of food which has been redistributed to 89 charities, this equates to approximately 12,857 meals.
FoodCloud is a social enterprise with a mission to transform surplus food into opportunities to make the world a kinder place. As part of our sustainability commitment to ensure no good food goes to waste, Green Isle Foods have been partnering with Foodcloud since March 2020. Since our partnership with Foodcloud we have donated 19.11 tonnes which has been redistributed to 189 charities, equating to approximately 45,000 meals. We hope our donation will help make a small difference for the people who need it most this Christmas.

Last month, Green Isle Foods raised €8,000 for the Irish Refugee Council and Irish Red Cross to support their efforts in helping those whose lives are affected by the unjust war in Ukraine.
Well done and thank you to all our team in Gurteen who ran a coffee morning in the Gurteen Community Hall. We also want to thank our team at our Naas HQ who ran a bake sale.
The Irish Refugee Council support refugees from Ukraine who come to Ireland, providing them with direct support as they try to find safety here.
The Red Cross teams are on the ground now in Ukraine and will continue their work to repair vital infrastructure, support health facilities, and help families with life-saving food and hygiene items.
Green Isle Foods stands with the Ukrainian people and our thoughts are with those whose lives are affected.
