At Green Isle, we believe you should never have to compromise on getting goodness onto your family’s plates. That’s why we use only the finest fresh ingredients that are carefully selected before freezing to lock in vitamins, minerals and flavour. The Green Isle range has been created to help you and your family to Get to the Goodness.

We are committed to providing quality, safe, nutritious and affordable products for all the family at mealtimes.

Working closely with all our growers and suppliers to continuously develop our sustainability practices and play our role in caring for the environment and the reduction of food waste, we continuously review our packaging, products and processes to help build a better future.

Removing unnecessary plastics is a priority for us and something we know is equally important to our consumers. Over the next few years we’ll be removing unnecessary packaging where we can, and introducing alternative packaging materials to make recycling easier for our consumers.

Over 50% of our packaging materials are recyclable (where facilities exist), however we know there’s more we need to do. Our aim is to have 80% of our packaging materials recyclable by 2021.

Palm Oil

All Palm oil used in Green Isle products is RSPO certified. We are continuously reviewing product ingredients and recipes to replace all palm oil across our portfolio where we can.

We support the responsible use of modern biotechnology within the framework of acceptable regulatory control, however, our consumer feedback indicates that they have concerns about the acceptability of ingredients containing GMOs. Green Isle does not purchase ingredients or raw materials containing GMOs. We exert control on our internal processes to ensure knowledge of composition and origin of all ingredients and raw materials.

We are committed to ensuring all of our products abide by the EU Commission Regulation 2017/2158 on Acrylamide in food.

Reduction of Food Waste

The United Nations (UN) estimates that globally each year, 1.3 billion tonnes of food is wasted, or approximately a third of the total food produced. In the EU around 88 million tonnes of food are wasted annually, with associated costs estimated at €143 billion.

By 2050 the world population will reach 9 billion. Food production must be increased by 70% to meet this demand and reducing food losses and waste must be among the main focus areas.

In Ireland there is over one million tonnes of food waste disposed of each year. Around 1/3 of this comes from households.

Food waste costs Irish households nearly €1 billion every year – approximately €700 could be saved by every family in Ireland if they reduced their food waste.

At Green Isle, we believe that buying frozen is a smart choice to help limit your food waste. We’ve done all the prepping, slicing and chopping for you. You can use exactly as much as you need when you need it, before putting the rest back in the freezer for the next mealtime. Enjoy all the nutrition and taste with none of the food waste. Waste Less and Buy Frozen.

At Green Isle, we expect that all our growers and suppliers will operate to high ethical standards. It is our policy to ensure that these ethical standards are applied and adhered to throughout our supply chain. These standards are based on the requirements of national law, including The Modern Slavery Act, The Ethical Trading Initiative code of conduct and other national standards where relevant.
