Green Isle’s 2022 FoodCloud Donation
As we near the end of 2022, we recognise that it has been a challenging year for many families and communities in Ireland
. And although Christmas is a very joyous time for most, it can be very difficult for others. With this in mind, we are delighted to partner with FoodCloud again as part of our Christmas charity initiatives. This year we have donated over 4000 packs of Green Isle frozen vegetables which FoodCloud are redistributing to charities and local community organisations. This year we have donated 5.40 tonnes of food which has been redistributed to 89 charities, this equates to approximately 12,857 meals.
FoodCloud is a social enterprise with a mission to transform surplus food into opportunities to make the world a kinder place. As part of our sustainability commitment to ensure no good food goes to waste, Green Isle Foods have been partnering with Foodcloud since March 2020. Since our partnership with Foodcloud we have donated 19.11 tonnes which has been redistributed to 189 charities, equating to approximately 45,000 meals. We hope our donation will help make a small difference for the people who need it most this Christmas.
