Air Fryer Chicken Kiev with Straight Cut Chips & Garden Peas

A crispy, golden dinner made easy at home! These homemade Chicken Kievs are filled with garlicky herb butter, coated in crunchy panko, and cooked to perfection in the air fryer — no deep frying needed. Served with Green Isle Straight Cut Chips, made from carefully selected potatoes and cooked in sunflower oil for a delicious crunch, and Green Isle Garden Peas, picked at their peak and frozen to lock in flavour, this is a modern family favourite that brings comfort food together with convenience and nutrition.

Ingredients

  • 100g Unsalted Butter, at room temperature
  • 6 Garlic Cloves, finely grated
  • 1 tbsp Flat Leaf Parsley, finely chopped
  • Salt & Freshly Ground Black Pepper
  • 2 Chicken Breasts
  • 100g Plain Flour
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 2 Eggs, beaten
  • 200g Panko Breadcrumbs
  • 250g Green Isle Straight Cut Chips
  • 125g Green Isle Garden Peas
  • Low Calorie Oil Spray

Method:

  1. Make the garlic butter: Add butter, garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper to a blender and blitz until smooth. Spoon onto cling film, roll into a sausage shape, and chill for at least 2 hours (or overnight).
  2. Prep the chicken: Butterfly each chicken breast and open it out. Slice the chilled butter into 8 discs. Place 2 discs in the centre of each breast, then fold over to seal.
  3. Coat the Kievs: Set up three bowls — one with seasoned flour and garlic powder, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs. Dip each Kiev into flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs.
  4. Air fry the Kievs: Spray with oil and cook in the air fryer at 200°C for 15–20 minutes until golden and cooked through.
  5. Cook the chips: Add Green Isle Straight Cut Chips to the air fryer drawer and cook at 200°C for 15–20 minutes, shaking halfway through.
  6. Heat the peas: Boil the Green Isle Garden Peas in salted water for 5 minutes, or pop them into a silicone tray in the air fryer for a quick finish.
  7. Serve everything hot with extra garlic butter (optional) and enjoy!
