Garden Peas Cheesy Pasta Bake
Enjoy Claire Marie (@clairemariecuisine) ‘s recipe for this family friendly pasta bake with Green Isle Garden Peas. A great way to help you sneak more veggies on the dinner plate. Pasta bakes are also a great dish to batch cook in advance, simply freeze until needed on busy weeknights after work or school.

Ingredients
250g of penne or fusilli pasta
1 onion finely chopped
1 small pack of lardons or bacon diced
2 chicken breasts cut into bitesize pieces
1 carrot, finely chopped
Handful of cherry tomatoes
480ml (2 cups) of passata
200g Green Isle Garden peas
Splash of Tabasco sauce (optional)
2 tbsp olive oil
2 teaspoons of Oregano
Salt and Pepper to season
120g of grated cheese
Method:
- Preheat oven to 180C fan.
- Place the pasta into a saucepan of boiling hot water and cook until al dente, drain and set aside.
- In a large pan, add 1 tbsp of oil then the chicken and bacon and cook through. Remove from the pan.
- Add the 2nd tbsp of oil to the pan and add the onion, carrot and tomatoes. Fry for a couple of minutes then add the passata. Season to taste, adding the oregano and tabasco. Simmer for 15 min.
- Then add the garden peas and the cooked meat.
- Fill an oven proof dish with the pasta then with the vegetable mixture. Top up with the grated cheese and bake for 20 minutes. Enjoy!
